About Mirani

Mirani has a population of just over 5,700 and while it is currently experiencing one of the strongest population growths in the region it has still been able to retain its unique village personality. In 2008, the Mirani Shire Council merged with the Sarina Shire Council and Mackay Shire Council, forming the Mackay Regional Council, providing a heightened level of services and resourcing.

Located less than two hours to the mining centres of Moranbah and Dysart; Pioneer Lakes and Mirani offers convenient access for couples and families directly employed in the Bowen Basin region.

The township of Mirani includes a museum and local library, Olympic size swimming pool, 18 hole golf course, the historic Mirani Hotel and a local supermarket and butcher. Additionally, this bustling community also has its own General Practitioner and features a local kindergarten and a primary and high school for those families with children.

Mirani is a ‘hot spot’ for a myriad of recreational facilities including water sports, golfing, fishing, bush walking and the local pistol club. Situated in the heart of Mirani, Pioneer Lakes provides convenient access to a world of leisure activities for you and your family to enjoy.
